Why we waited to ask.

For our first four years, Al-Quds has been around 95% self-sustained, funded by our team and their immediate families. Anything beyond that came as ad-hoc gifts from individuals who reached out and asked to contribute. We chose not to fundraise publicly until we were ready.

Knowing the problem we’re solvingIn the early days we were still learning what problem we were truly solving. We didn’t want to take anyone’s sadaqah before we knew exactly what we were working on.

The strength to hold the amanahPublic funds are a trust. We wanted the operational strength to uphold that amanah properly before asking for it.

Keeping every donor closeWe built a simple, consolidated donor system, so every donor is consistently kept in the loop on what the academy is working on.
